Factors that Accelerate Battery Deterioration

  • Overloading. The electric scooter is limited to one rider only. Please check scooter specification for information on maximum load.

  • Moisture or humidity conditions. This includes staying close to the sea over time and other conditions that will cause damage to the battery and electrical system.

  • High-temperature conditions. This includes locking the battery in a car under excessive temperature conditions, direct exposure to or prolonged contact or near contact with heat emitting devices/appliances.

  • Storing the battery without charging or discharging for more than 15 days. It is highly recommended to charge the battery after every use. There is no need to discharge the battery before charging. It is recommended to wait for 30 minutes after using the product before charging the battery.

Instructions on Safe Battery Use and Charging

  • The Customer should ensure product maintenance to avoid any deterioration to the electric system resulting in excess battery drainage. Product maintenance by the Customer includes checking on the product’s:

    • - Air pressure

    • - Braking system

  • There is no need to discharge the battery before charging it.

  • It is recommended to connect the charger to the electrical grid through an electric current stabiliser or a lightning protection product. Otherwise, it is recommended to disconnect the charger from the wall socket after every use. Damage inflicted to the charger due to current fluctuations in the electrical grid is not covered in the warranty.

  • The charger must be placed on non-flammable surfaces at a safe distance from flammable materials such as a mattress, rug, curtain, carpet, etc. and from flammable liquids such as any kind of alcohol, petrol, etc.

  • Charging the battery must be carried out under supervision in a ventilated location, such as a terrace. It is forbidden to charge the battery in bedrooms or in any tightly closed room/location.

  • Discharge the battery by running it from full to one bar and then stopping use and placing the battery on charge until FULL or at least 4 hours on a consistent charge.

  • It is forbidden to use a third-party or non-genuine charger, which has not undergone Mearth’s approval process. Use of a third-party or non-genuine charger will result in the warranty being void.

  • We understand frustration can arise in situations when things go wrong but the Mearth technical team is here to help and assist you in what we can.

  • As we do our best to configure what is needed, we ask to please bear with us and take note this may take some time as we repair your e-scooter to the best of our abilities.

  • Please be aware of certain charges that may be incurred to serve you better. Kindly read more below.

  • Just a few heads up that you should know if you are requesting to repair your electric scooter:

  • 1. The time it takes to evaluate and repair a scooter can range up to 5 weeks, depending on the repair queue and shipping delays.

  • 2. To initiate a repair request, the customer must provide a video that shows the issue with the e-scooter. We recommend that the customer seek assistance from another person to film the e-scooter being ridden to avoid any accidents. Mearth will review the video within 2 business days and suggest a resolution that may involve providing instructions to fix the issue, replacing parts, sending the e-scooter to a repair partner or shop, or replacing the entire e-scooter depending on the severity of the problem.

  • 3.After going through the sent video with the issue, the Mearth technical team will reach out to the customer to help troubleshoot the e-scooter, if needed.

  • 4. We ask the customer to kindly follow the recommended steps first because if the Mearth technical team finds no issue with the scooter, the customer will be responsible for the shipping and evaluation fees.

  • In the event that the e-scooter has lapsed in its warranty period, the customer must pay for the shipping fees, parts replacement and labor fees.

  • 5. It is also important to know that proper packaging is required when sending the e-scooter back for repair to avoid damages while it is in transit. We want to make sure your e-scooter gets to us in good shape despite unforeseen travel conditions. However, damages incurred on the e-scooter while in transit due to poor packing by the customer will not be covered by warranty. Please pack it well, otherwise Mearth can refuse to repair the e-scooter or even void the warranty.

  • 6.To further elaborate, without the proper packing of your e-scooter, (the proper one should be just like how you originally received your brand-new e-scooter), your e-scooter may arrive at the Mearth headquarters in a very poor shape– maybe even dilapidated–and this is what we are avoiding. If this is the situation at hand, Mearth has the right to refuse to handle your e-scooter to avoid liability in case there may be further damages found.

  • 7. Hence, if the original box and foam are no longer available, the customer must secure the same packaging with similar dimensions. Mearth can supply new boxes and foam with a small fee, just reach out to us.

  • We hope all the best for you and your e-scooter!
